Launch-week reviews are inflated. The five-star listings are useless. And the sites that sell the machines they review have a conflict of interest they'd rather not discuss.
BrewTested is the coffee-side sibling of a family of review brands built on one idea: score products with a disclosed, structured rubric, publish the failures, and never take money for a score. Espresso gear is where buyers get burned the hardest, so here we are.
Our Fit Analysis synthesizes manufacturer specs, owner reports across forums and retailers, and community consensus into one scorecard per machine. It starts as research scoring, not hands-on testing, and we say so on every page. As our own test bench comes online, reviewed machines get living ownership logs with dated updates.
